Welcome to the Fringe by the Sea website.

Over the next few months we will be posting details of the festival, keeping you up to date with the Programme as it develops and getting you enthused by the variety of cracking entertainment we have planned for you.

It is important that we live up to our reputation of being the best 'small scale multi-arts festival in Scotland' - so no pressure then, and lots for all tastes and ages!

Once again we have the two Speigeltents coming across from Belgium, and the Harbour area will be transformed into the Festival Village. The pace will be fast, furious and non-stop - with a full programme of gigs in both right through the day.

Ever heard of the NEW ROPE STRING BAND? They won a Fringe First last year and will be kicking off our festival on the 5th. Later that night, THE BLUES BAND are back. Paul Jones now loves North Berwick so much that he couldn't bear to be away for even a year. When they visited in 2011, many diehard music buffs reckoned it was the best gig they'd ever been to!

Through the week, you will have the chance to see DOUGIE MacLEAN, ELAINE C SMITH, BOMBSKARE and PHIL CUNNINGHAM & ALY BAIN. If you were in Edinburgh last year, you'll know that THE BOY WITH TAPE ON HIS FACE was the hottest ticket around - we hope he'll be down as part of a great comedy offering including LUCY PORTER and JENNY ECLAIR. And the USA is represented again this year with the incredible [and beautiful] LARKIN POE coming for the first time.

Swithching across to books and authors, we will be announcing the full line up early May - but already it is a looking unmissable! With cookery now a fashionable pastime - not just for survival! - we are having a full day of demonstrations and chat from some very well known faces - details to follow.

There is going to be a series of events and activities to celebrate the glorious coastline around East Lothian. With 2013 being designated the Year of Natural Scotland, we have teamed up with The Seabird Centre to bring you a variety of talks, walks - and even boat trips - to entertain and educate!

And of course, a strong childrens' programme - although a lot of what we are putting on for you will appeal to all the family!
